If you enjoy water, there is no place like Dennis for a vacation. Yes, the Cape Cod town is a watery paradise. Dennis has 16 beaches on the ocean and two on fresh water lakes, making it a swimmer's paradise! For fishing, there is the Bluefish and Small Mouth Bass in Scargo Lake. For boating, there is Sesuit Harbor opening onto Cape Cod Bay in East Dennis. There is also the Bass River. Two freshwater beaches are open to visitors in Dennis. Dennis is also steeped in history, which can be experienced at the Josiah Dennis Manse and Jericho House & Barn Museum. The Cape Museum of Fine Arts is on the grounds of the Cape Playhouse. The Cape Playhouse, on Route 6A, is a must visit spot for those who enjoy theater. It began life in 1838 as a Unitarian Church.
