About New Mexico

New Mexico, with Santa Fe as capital, is one of the most diverse states in the United States of America. The landscapes are diverse, the cultures ancient and rich, and the recreational opportunities are excellent, thanks to the mountains, deserts, lakes, and forests! The reason you could enjoy outdoor attractions above anything else is the fact that more than 45 per cent of New Mexico is in public ownership. A little less than half the area of New Mexico is open to visitors for exploration, and New Mexico vacation rentals are around to make your experience memorable. Nature lovers just get enough of the state, as more than 300 public land sites feature natural wonders such as hot springs high in the North-Central mountains. More come your way in the form of undeveloped caves and lava flows in Southeast New Mexico and spectacular rock formations in Southwest New Mexico. Angel Fire and Cedar Crest are two vacation hot spots in New Mexico.

The state also boasts the world's largest deposit of gypsum sand. History buffs can check out the ancient Native American ruins in Northwest New Mexico. Thirty four State Parks are maintained in New Mexico by New Mexico State Parks and Recreation. New Mexico's northern parks are the mountain parks. These are nestled in the high mountain ranges of New Mexico, and provide many hidden surprises such as lakes, gentle streams and fast flowing rivers. It's what you need to escape from the madding crowd. Vacationers here will step into a magic world with wildflowers inhabiting beautiful meadows. Forests are around as well. Photographers can't miss this, and that holds true for campers, hikers, and nature lovers as well. New Mexico opens its arms to everyone.
